Be Merciful

Why do we need to show mercy to other people around us?

Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

*We show mercy because God is merciful to us. God is always merciful. His mercy will never end. We were dead spiritually and without mercy, there is no way we can have a chance to be in a relationship with God again.

*We show mercy as  a testimony of God's grace to us. Our life is an evidence of how God became merciful to us. Without evidence, there is no credibility with the gospel that we preach. God's mercy in us enables us to live again according to God's standards.

*We show mercy so others can experience what it is to receive mercy. We are mercy-bearers. We are vessels for the mercy of God to flow into other's lives. Showing grace and mercy makes people see the tangible side of God's character and believe He is real.

Let us be the instruments which people will know God because of our lives full of grace and mercy. This character must be a daily manifestation not to tolerate evil but to conquer evil by using this overflowing grace and mercy that comes from God.
